At the end of each Intellidance® Tots class, we free dance to an upbeat song. This is an opportunity to move and dance without direction or cueing. It allows families to enjoy the freedom and joy of simply moving to music, which reinforces that unstructured dance provides a powerful bonding experience with caregiver and child. And, hopefully, the free dance will encourage families to get up and dance outside of the classroom.
On that note, here are a list of eight of my current favourite songs to use during Free Dance time. May it inspire you and your loved ones to get up and dance. And, if you need more songs to dance to, check out my Top Ten Dance Party Songs: Empowering, Engaging, and Appropriate for Toddlers. Enjoy!
